Being Brave

It's taken me a while to get to this...thanks for your patience!
In February I had the opportunity to attend Brave Girls Camp- life changing fun for women.
It's one of those experiences where you just have to say "you had to be there". Really, if I tried to explain it, it would only miss the mark of what is one of the most life changing experiences of my life. I try to describe it as self therapy...through art. It truly is. I know, sounds sappy. But, really...amazing things happen at these retreats. Here are a few photos from the week. Note: I was on staff. That is why you see me in the kitchen. I was honored to be able to serve these wonderful women. Make sure you read my comments below the brave girl photos on what it means to be brave for me...right now...in my life.
All of the beautiful women at Brave Girls Camp. BTW...I'm on the second row, third in from the left. (sitting on the poor girl's feet behind me...I think she had to have them amputated)
Chelsea and I laughing it up during dinner prep in the kitchen. I don't even remember what we were laughing about. We were laughing ALL the time. Good times...GREAT times.
My sweet sister in law, Melody Ross (creator and host of Brave Girls) and I.
I will be posting some of my collage creations in a following post.
It was truly and amazing experience. Feel free to follow the link above to find out more about this amazing retreat opportunity!

Okay...on to being brave...right now.
What it means to be brave for me.
1. Going out in public in my current physical state. which leads to number 2
2. Posting this photo of my sister in law and I. This was taken last week. She is 16 wks prego and I'm 33. We had a random photo shoot because we were wearing the same shirt, just different colors. Note: she is the cutie on the left...I'm the huge girl (with a crazed looked in her eyes) on the right. I know...brave.

3. Painting my toe nails. Let me realistic...it is tough anytime past 25 wks for me to do this. No, this is not a photo of my actual feet...but it pretty much resembles the outcome after I attempt this near to impossible feat. (feet..ha ha..okay, getting desperate)I know these seem trivial...but really, it's how I feel lately. I know it's only bound to get worse...for the next six weeks. Wish me luck.

Follow up post will be slightly more insightful about what it truly means for me to be BRAVE. Stay tuned.

You're all tummy! What are you worried about? Preggo women are supposed to gain weight, esp in the third trimester, and you look absolutely fabulous! Also, you ROCKED that shirt! Rocked it!

I just came across your blog - I know as a guy this post was probably not the best post for me to be introduced to you. Even though I am a guy - I also have fears and you are right it takes courage to face them. Good job...
Congrats on the upcoming baby!
I wondered why my wife's feet looked a litte different during those last few months of her pregnacy :)
