things that make my heart sing

Over the past couple days I have had a lucky streak...not super, great, fantastic deal...but fun stuff!
We went to D.I. as a family on Saturday and found some SWEET movies! Yes, they are VHS...but who cares. Most were $1/piece. There were one or two that were $2. I could probably do without a couple of these. But, for the most part - awesome buys! My favorites: Grease & West Side Story.
Ben's favorites: Firefox & 2001 Space Odyssey.

Yesterday for FHE we made a trip to Fred Meyer to buy some seeds and soil to plant some starters for our garden. I had a hankering for something sweet and fatty...which spells "doughnut" for me. Ben knows this... so he led us in that general direction. I always look at the reduced bakery rack. They usually have a dozen doughnuts for $2.98. Well, let's just say we must have had the luck o' the irish with us last night. There were about 4, 1 dozen boxes that were marked $.01. Yes... that's right...one little red penny! Doughnut heaven here we come! Yes, I realize the price my health had to pay was much higher. WHO CARES...I didn't, that's for sure. Let's just say I was doing some emotional eating last night. And nothing was going to get in my way! By the way...when I really want an awesome doughnut...and I'm not afraid of the sticker price...I head to Country Donuts on Overland near 5 mile. Yum-oh!

So, this last thing that makes my heart sing has to top them all. Lately we've been hearing a lot of Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" on the radio. Ladybug has started to try and sing this whenever we hear it. Oh my goodness...I will have to try and capture it on video...somehow. When it comes to the chorus she does pretty darn good! Today I moved my rear view mirror so I could see her singing. She was concentrating pretty hard. When the part came that goes "scootch on over closer dear, and I will nibble your ear"...she tugged on her ear! That makes my heart sing...we're so lucky to have her in our family. She is so much fun!

Wow! Alot of those flicks really bring back memories. "Annie" was the first movie I ever saw in a theater. If you have a dvd converter (or access to one) you could always record them onto dvd. Great deal on the doughnuts! I'd probably throw caution to the wind on that as well!
